We know what it means for dog lovers to holiday with their pet. When we say we’re dog friendly, we really mean it.

Finding somewhere to stay with the dog can be hit and miss, so we’ve made it easy. The Derby Arms offers dog-friendly accommodation, so your four-legged companions are more than welcome to join you.
There are some great walks, runs and cycle routes directly from our front door, across the quiet lanes and open country of the Lyth Valley, with Whitbarrow Scar and Yewbarrow close by. Then it’s back to the pub for a pint by the fire and something hearty from the kitchen.
Please tell us when you book that you’re bringing your dog, and ask on arrival where they’ll be most comfortable in the pub. Out on the hills, please keep dogs on a lead around livestock and nesting birds.

Where can I walk my dog near Witherslack?
There are routes straight from our front door, including around Whitbarrow Scar, Yewbarrow (known locally as The Noddle) and the Lyth Valley. Ask us for suggestions. Please keep dogs on a lead near livestock and nesting birds.
Do you serve food?
Yes, Wednesday to Sunday. Food is served from 12pm to 8pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays, 12pm to 8:30pm on Fridays and Saturdays, and 12pm to 6pm on Sundays.
