Welcome to Witherslack

Looking for a peaceful base for your next Lake District break? You’ve come to the right place.

Where we are

Handy for the lakes, handy for the motorway

Witherslack is located just inside the Lake District National Park, between the towns of Kendal and Grange-over-Sands. Our location provides handy access to the A590, meaning famous Lakes hot spots like Windermere are just 13 miles to the north, and you can be on the M6 in less than 15 minutes by car.

We’re proud to be a local ‘hub’ within our beautiful village and love to do what we can to support our community. Witherslack sits in the Lyth Valley, sandwiched between Whitbarrow Scar and Yewbarrow (known locally as The Noddle), so you’ll find some great walking, running and cycling routes directly from our front door.

Next door there’s the village Community Shop, and a brilliant plant centre that’s definitely worth a visit: Abi & Tom’s Garden Plants.

If you’re looking for things to do during your visit to Witherslack and the Lakes, just let us know – we’re more than happy to make suggestions and help wherever we can.
